History2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2002 – Year of Disturbing Ideas Any business starts with an idea. The idea to organize a consulting business and to establish a NaviCon company was born long before 2002. This idea seemed first unrealizable to our friends and acquaintances. Though only few people believed at the beginning of the 20th century that the first airplane would ever go skyward… We were certain that the most daring dreams and desires would certainly come to reality and become the takeoff runway for an overwhelming flight. It was in the year of 2002 that our first business planning and necessary institutional arrangements from registering a legal entity to developing our strategy took place. The company then consisted of only three people– two partners and an office manager. At the same time we came up with the idea of a company name – NaviCon. This word reflects our core business and consists of two terms: “NAVIgate” and “CONsulting”. We selected Microsoft as a strategic partner, the former being the absolute leader in the field of business solutions. Start means not only a process but a result as well. A successful start means a built-up team, first customers, first winnings and failures. Nothing inspires more than dynamics and speed. And we aimed to speed up to the maximum. The first deals, though not large-scale, are nevertheless accepted as major victories; and the issues that now seem trifle appeared extremely complicated at that time. But we felt the drive. It helped us to overcome all obstacles. That year NaviCon Company gained its first status as a Microsoft Business Solutions Certified Partner. Such companies as Planeta Udachi, Crystal (a cultural and entertainment center), VILO Rus became our first customers, with whom we have stayed in close relations up to now. To increase the level of confidence towards a young company we carried out an audit of our project methodology and got an unqualified opinion. DNV (Det Norske Veritas) Company – an organization with the worldwide authority performed auditing services for us. At the beginning of 2004 our portfolio already included a number of successful projects and a professional team. These were enough for a take-off, i.e. for a shift from business start-up to its further development. Our annual turnover increased by 50% in that period. The company expanded its product portfolio that now included ERP systems from Microsoft Business Solutions product line – Navision and Axapta, as well as a BPM-class budgeting system – Plan Designer. The experience and expertise of more than 30 of our certified specialists allowed us to develop new horizontal and vertical solutions in various industry sectors. The go-live of several large-scale projects made us to organize a new department responsible for development and support. At that point we were able to say something to the community. Our slogan “We navigate You to success” became our motto. In 2004 we attracted such customers as Nikomed Distribution, Desan, Intechline, Interbusinesstelecom and many others. NaviCon climbed up rapidly. However if the quick growth is not properly managed, it may lead to a catastrophe. We had no right to risk either our customers or our business. Therefore we took part in Microsoft Customer Satisfaction Index (C-SAT) program that let us estimate the quality of our services and ensured our self-confidence. Based on the results of FYs 2004-2005 Microsoft has first recognized our company among other partners and awarded us with the diploma of honor for the most rapid growth in the field of Microsoft Business Solutions. In October 2005 we gained the Microsoft ISV/Software Solutions Competence. This competence was awarded to us according to the results of an independent certification that analyzed the quality of our developments. In November 2005 we were one of the first to achieve the status of Microsoft Gold Certified Partner with Business Solutions competence. The number of customers grew considerably – Concept Technologies, Nord Wins Distribution, Gumm Shoes Rus, Essel Propack, Cherus, Microtech. Besides, such companies as The United Confectionary Manufacturers, Red October, Rot Front, Confectionary Concern Babayevsky, Central Telegraph signed for our support services. 2006 – Introduction of Additional “Engine” In 2006 the decision was made to incorporate Bright Consult Company specializing in automotive solutions with NaviCon. Establishing a daughter company was a strategic step that led us to strengthening our positions in the fast-growing automotive market not only in Russia, but also in the neighboring countries. The same year NaviCon Group Company first became a member of the MBS President’s Club. This club unites 5% of the best Microsoft Business Solutions partners worldwide. Companies are awarded this membership for outstanding sales figures and a high level of customer satisfaction. Largest companies adorned the customer list of NaviCon Group: IKEA Russia, ICOS, Gamma Center, RosEuroPlast, Unident, Biohit, Nizhegorodskaya Sotovaya Svyaz, Consumer Finance Company, Drofa, Profindustry-Center. Year 2007 became the period of our absolute winnings. We spent this year to develop our vertical expertise. We released new versions of NaviCon Trade and NaviCon Holding solutions that were later successfully implemented in dozens of largest Russian companies. This brought us to the leading position among the vendors of Microsoft Dynamics solutions (former Business Solutions) in the fields of distribution and of food-processing industry. We not only repeated the success of the previous year, but also surpassed it. NaviCon Group entered again the Microsoft President’s Club and was also recognized in terms of Microsoft Dynamics Regional Partner of the Year Award 2007. NaviCon Group compelled attention of not only its customers and competitors, but of worldwide largest solution developers as well. In 2007 we signed an agreement with BasWare Company that gave us the right to deliver and implement the BasWare GC & IFRS Package product designed to automate the report generation process according to IFRS standards. New customers honored us with their confidence: Deloitte CIS, IES Holding, Alliance-CR, MIEMP, Tremco Illbruck, Polar Express – Moscow, KOF Palitra, Senteo International and many others. 2008 – Power Strengthening Year We do not want to rest on our laurels and we never stop seeking and creating the best solutions for our customers. NaviCon Group has signed the official partner agreement with IBM (Cognos) Company, thus adding a powerful and professional team to the already existing BPM practice. The staff quantity in NaviCon Group has long exceeded a hundred. In 2008 we pay particular attention to the development and management of our human resources. Thus, modern activity and staff satisfaction assessment systems are being developed. Our employees participated in definition of the company’s values. Internal and external trainings of our specialists have been considerably intensified. We are happy to notice the increase in the number of customers: MTT, Mir Detstva, Otechestvennye lekarstva, Conde Nast, VTB-Capital-Stolitsa, Media Arts, ITE, Moscow Brewing Company, MOL, Lush Russia, GMR Planeta Gostepriimstva, BLUM.2009 – The Story Goes On
Thus, the following solutions came to life: NaviCon Processing for flow line production management, NaviCon ReportDesigner for generating reports in Microsoft Dynamics AX, and NaviCon ADV for advertisement object management. The story of NaviCon Group will go on. Each of us takes part in it. We are sure that new victories and new challenges are awaiting us. |
